Since Alexander McQueen has started his career in the fashion industry, the name McQueen was easily associate with haute couture, because the genius and talented fashion designer never kept limits for his creativity and compromising his ideas was never an option. Of course, the success came rather quickly and got the attention of the press while working at Givenchy for five years.

After launching his personal label on the market, with theatrical designs and dramatic fashion shows, Alexander found fans in the round of celebrities. David Bowie or Bjork and lately Lady Gaga, were just a few top celebs that fell in love with his creations.

Unfortunately, early this year, Alexander McQueen was another major loss that the fashion industry has suffered. Of course, the label couldn’t have died along with the designer, so after one season, the name of Alexander McQueen came in the hands of the new head designer, Sarah Burton. Surprisingly, there’s no other person that could’ve taken his vision forward than herself.

Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection starts challenging and very different from what we expected from it, with a few all-white looks that embrace a fairytale feeling along with energic and fresh beauty.

During the show the theatrical appearances, dramatic clothes, imperial prints and structural futuristic shapes capture our attention and makes us feel like McQueen lives with us through Sara Burton's latest designs for the label that emphasizes the typical haute-couture accents brought into every piece on the runway. Even if McQueen is now gone, he still lives through the prints, shapes and visions that his collections - and now Sara's - always brought in our attention.

As always, the thematic and influences adapted involve romance combined with art, reality mixed with an inner life of the looks, masculinity in war with femininity, wearable clothes with dreamy make-ups and hairstyles that set the mood through a pleasant ambiance.
